Welcome to
Our First Newsletter! I would like to give you an introduction and a little of our history of our company. Carolyn and I have been in business for over six years. Our first year of business was spent in the room behind my garage. The heating was dicey but the air conditioning was fine after we finally added that window unit! We worked there for a year and thought we were doing great but then my friend (and number one realtor) Dwight Swann found a property on north 6th street in the middle of the Paducah Artist Relocation District. We moved into our new four-plex in January
of 2003. Besides our business growing, every day was a new adventure as the buildings all around us were being rehabilitated. After two
years of sharing one room the size of a walk-in closet, Carolyn and I decided to look again at moving. Once again, Dwight came through. He
found a house that had most recently been the offices of B and H The new location is great and is also in an area where improvements are happening all around us.The new office has also been great for our office staff. Von Duckett, who was a field employee from day one and then became our first office manager, has recently decided to reduce her hours and is now our Payroll Manager. Our part time receptionist, Carolyn Prather, is an integral part of our first contact with our clients. We also have a new face, Vanna Kolb, who has recently stepped into the role of office manager. In the summer, my daughter, Katie Williamson can also be seen in and around when she is home from college. Carolyn and I could not do what we need to do without the support and assistance of this wonderful group. When we started this business, I had been taking care of my mother-in-law before she passed away. Carolyn had been taking care of several family members and is still taking care of her mother and her father-in-law. With these experiences and working with all of our families over the past years we have learned quite a lot. Our advertising guru Clay Campbell has suggested we share these tips about what works and what doesn’t! We also have learned a great deal about resources and both Carolyn and I feel one of the most important things we do is to direct our families to these whenever possible. In the coming months we will try to share all of this with you as well. Sometimes you will hear from me and sometimes from Carolyn. See you next month! |
